2017 Aluminum Plate
2017 aluminum plate is a high-strength Al-Cu-Mg series duralumin alloy, well known for its excellent mechanical strength, good fatigue resistance, and superior machinability. Compared with 2024 aluminum, 2017 offers slightly higher strength and hardness, making it especially suitable for high-load structural components. The alloy maintains stable performance under moderate heat conditions and is commonly used for structural parts operating below 150℃.
2017 aluminum plate shows good formability in hot-worked, annealed, and solution-treated conditions, with a remarkable response to heat treatment. However, like other high-copper aluminum alloys, it has relatively poor corrosion resistance, which can be effectively improved by pure aluminum cladding (Alclad) or surface treatments. Welding is challenging and prone to cracking, but riveting and special welding techniques are widely applied in practical use.
2017 aluminum plate is widely used in aircraft structural components (such as fuselage frames, ribs, beams, and fittings), aerospace fasteners, military equipment, automotive structural parts, machinery components, and high-stress industrial applications where strength, precision, and reliability are critical.
